This policy explains, in plain words, what personal data Shivam Jewels and Arts LLP collects through this website, why, how long we keep it and what you can ask us to do with it. It follows India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
Who we are
Shivam Jewels and Arts LLP is a jewellery manufacturer and wholesaler in Jaipur (Jadau Polki, Temple, Open Setting and Modern Polki jewellery). Our workshop and office: 20-21, Mahesh Path, Keshav Vihar, Ridhi Sidhi Crossing, Gopalpura Bypass Road, Jaipur 302018, Rajasthan, India. This website is a catalogue and a way to contact us. There are no customer accounts, no online payments and no shopping-cart checkout. Orders, prices and delivery are agreed directly with you by WhatsApp, phone, email or in person.
What we collect
What you send us. When you use our contact form, a product enquiry, the quick enquiry form on a blog post or the newsletter sign-up, we store what you type: your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, your message, the product or category you ask about, and (if you add them) your organisation and city. We also store whether you ticked a box to receive design updates and offers by email or WhatsApp, with the time and the wording you saw.
How you reached us. With each form we store the page with the form, the first page you opened, the website or advert that sent you (the referrer and any campaign tags in the link), your IP address, your browser, operating system and device type, and an approximate location (country, state, city). The location is looked up from your IP address in a database on our own server; your IP address is not sent anywhere for this.
Our own visit statistics. We count visits ourselves, without an outside analytics company: a random number in a cookie recognises your browser, and we record the pages and products you view and your clicks on our WhatsApp, call and enquiry buttons, with your IP address, browser, device and approximate location. Search engine robots and our own staff are not counted. Stop counting my visits on this device (this saves a small cookie that switches the counting off).
Google Analytics. We also use Google Analytics to see how the website is used as a whole (pages viewed, time on the site, type of device, rough location). Google sets its own cookies for this and processes the data under Google's privacy policy.
When you message or call us. If you contact us on WhatsApp, by phone or by email, we receive what you share there (for example your number, name and the photos or details of the jewellery you want). WhatsApp, your phone company and your email provider handle those messages under their own privacy policies.
Cookies
- Needed for the site to work: a session cookie and a security token (XSRF-TOKEN) that protect our forms. They expire two hours after your last visit to a page.
- Our visit statistics: sj_vid (random visitor number, up to 180 days), sj_first (how you first reached us, up to 180 days), sj_utm (the campaign link you last came from, up to 90 days), sj_notrack (only if you choose to stop the counting, one year).
- Google Analytics: _ga and _ga_ cookies set by Google.
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings; the website still works, and our forms only need the cookies in the first group.
Why we use it
- To answer your enquiry, send you a quote or catalogue, and follow up on designs and orders you discuss with us.
- To send you new designs and offers, only if you ticked that box. Every email has an unsubscribe link; for WhatsApp updates just reply STOP or tell us.
- To understand which pages, products and adverts bring enquiries, so we can improve the website.
- To keep the forms safe from spam and misuse.
- To meet legal, tax and accounting duties when an enquiry becomes an order.
We use the data you give us for the purpose you gave it for. Where we rely on your consent (for example updates and offers), you can withdraw it at any time; this does not affect what was done before.
Who else sees it
We do not sell or rent your personal data. We share it only with service providers that help us run the website and reply to you, and only as far as they need it:
- our web hosting and email provider (stores the website, its database and our emails);
- Cloudflare Turnstile (checks that a form is sent by a person, not a robot; it sees your IP address and browser details);
- Google (Analytics; Google Fonts and the Google Map on the contact page load from Google's servers; YouTube videos in our articles load from YouTube when you play them);
- Mailchimp, only for newsletter subscribers who agreed to emails (name and email address only; WhatsApp numbers are never sent there).
Some of these providers may store data outside India. We may also disclose data when the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Our visit statistics: 180 days, then they are deleted automatically.
- Enquiries: as long as we need them to answer you, follow up on designs and orders, and keep our business records. You can ask us to delete them at any time.
- Newsletter sign-ups: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
- Google Analytics data: for the period set in our Google Analytics account.
- Order records: as long as Indian tax and accounting law requires.
Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you can ask us:
- for a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
- to correct, complete or update it;
- to delete it (unless the law requires us to keep it);
- to stop sending you updates and offers (withdraw your consent);
- to let a person you name exercise these rights for you if you die or become unable to;
- to resolve a complaint about how we handle your data.

Keeping it safe
The website uses HTTPS, our admin area is protected by password and login limits, and only the people who answer enquiries can see your data. No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and will act quickly if something goes wrong.
Children
This website is meant for adults and businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18; if you think a child has sent us their details, tell us and we will delete them.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we use personal data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
